Through releasing this translated version of our recipe compilation, we aim to expose the international community to North Korea's rich culture, which is often sidelined and treated as nonexistent as more focus is given to the regime's authoritarianism and brutality. Hence, we hope that this translation will allow readers to immerse themselves in North Korea's vibrant cuisine and discover another side of North Korea other than its poverty and tragic abuses by the state.
