The harsh fate of young North Korean refugees: Kotjebi

Kot means flower and jebi means swallow birds - two beautiful words, but combined together "Kotjebi" means a vagabond, young North Korean children typically without parents surviving only by stealing.

After covid-19 hit the world, a UN human rights report indicated that there have been an increasing number of Kotjebi in North Korea. Many of them cross the borders of China for better opportunities to find food.

One of our mission is to rescue the most vulnerable class among the refugees including Kotjebi.
